Sorry to bother again, and I'm probably being impatient, but when might I get energetic? I'm on day 7, eating around 30 - 50g carbohydrate each day, and I believe I am now in ketosis (breath, urine etc.). I just feel tired and occasionally dizzy. My sleep was initially being disrupted but that seems to have settled. I think I'm getting enough calories and eating enough fat (e.g.160g so far today). Will I burst with energy soon?

Oh, and my pre and post breakfast BG readings are still between 8 and 9 but the rest of the day I am between 6 and 7.

Make sure you have enough electrolytes. When I get symptoms (occasionally while fasting), I usually take an electrolyte drink. Some keto experts like Volek & Phinney suggest drinking bone broth or bouillon. You can get very low because your body sheds water in the first couple of weeks.

You can also have changes in BP as a result, so replenishing electrolytes is a good idea. I hope you're not on BP medication? If so, you probably need the doses adjusted by your doctor.

I'm in week 3 and just noticing some changes - weight loss has begun, I'm fizzing with energy (hence typing on here at 1 a.m.), did two really long walks with the dog in last 2 days, revamped all my patio pots - there's no stopping me!

Thank you for all the advice. I'm glad it is just my being impatient and not a sign that it'll never happen. I started LCHF because I had no energy in the 1st place due to poor control! I'm really looking forward to bouncing around getting things done with ease.

I have started waking early, although still tired. I wonder if that is a good sign. Today I have got up rather than going back to sleep - but I'm not bouncing!
