2h24:36 (I was aiming for 2h30) and I got to slap the hands of Greg Rutherford, Nicola Adams and Kat Copeland (3 gold medalists). My quads are so sore that I can hardly stand, and my feet are covered in blisters, buy I'm very proud of myself. Newcastle is also a very nice place.

Tell us a bit more about your new toy! I once briefly looked into getting a hooky Dexcom machine for monitoring my BG, but got put off by a combination of cost, legality, and having a huge needle stuck into me. I would genuinely love the data though...

Well the pump I have only had in since early this afternoon but I have certainly noticed the difference.. my basal is at around 50% of what is was on Insulatard and I think I am going to have to drop it a little more than that.. so less insulin is always nice.. bolus wise just being able to properly control the release over a couple of hours rather than ****** about with multiple rapids is so nice.. I ate a relatively high carb meal for my dinner tonight.. and with 30% less insulin than I would normally inject I spiked to a massive 6.5 mmol/l @ +1 hour and was at 5.1 mmol/l @ +2.. 4.4 mmol/l @ +3.. that sort of meal would normally have seen a bigger spike and probably a 4 hour return to the mid to low 5's! on my MDI... and now I am going to have to spoil that and eat something before bed because I don't trust the basal level enough to go to bed in the 4s!

It's hard to explain but it all feels so much smother than injected insulin.. I am beyond impressed so far

I am self-funding the CGM which is going to be expensive so I might not do it long term (or not all the time long term) but I get that next Tuesday... so once I am hooked up on that I am going to be a happy bunny!

Those are good times! you are right to be proud of yourself!
