Self absorbed and rude people! Motorists who are oblivious to the rest of the world, and really don't give a ****!
The following statement is not aimed at this forum - which I have no idea how I could manage being diabetic without....

Having been diagnosed a T2 for just over 3 years I have done lots of research (and I am still a novice it is such a complicated disease) and tried to keep up with latest news and views etc, but the one thing I have found that there is just so much conflicting information out there! Today I have found that soy can be bad for me, though I have been using to lower cholesterol (as recommended), and now I see that Statins can help prevent blindness in T2s, having been anti statins, because of their known side effects for some time.

All I really need is to know what is really good, what is really bad for T2s foodwise - I guess nothing in this world is that simplistic :?

I sympathize with your confusion, and tend to go by the simple rule of thumb: if my grandmother wouldn't/couldn't have eaten it, leave it alone. That would certainly rule out soy, and all modern processed foods like "vegetable oils" which often contain soy I believe. From what I've read, even the Japanese wouldn't eat soy the way it's processed in the West. Anyway, we have enough pseudo-oestrogens in our environment without adding more. How about nut milks, they are easy to make.

Etty,

We were talking about food during lunch break at work today and my colleagues pretty much said what you said - 'try to stick was as many 'natural' foods as possible, so these seems like good, solid, sound advice :D
