many guys do injections insuline while they are workig out at a gym
It is what it isThis is thee most stupidest thing I've ever heard...
Dear Muddweller,Just in defence of facebook as l get angry at all the negatives especially from those who do not have an account.....it was all that kept me going after Brian passed l took over his f/book and friends never used it till then. With my mums problems and no one to turn to it was a support l would have been lost without and l am not sure l could have totally functioned.
It is still a special support l don't post as much but has been there when l needed help or advice or even a good laugh. l met my present husband through it he was a friend of a friend.
And a lot of families and friends have been reunited through it, l have found several l haven't seen but have hunted since l left home at 16 who are in the words of Johnny Clegg (singer) "The Scatterlings of Africa"
A lot of money has been raised as well as awareness of good causes
If someone or group is stupid just unlike or block them. Sadly like everything it is the negatives that get played up not the positives. Just don't keep kicking until you know the fuller story of how much it has changed life for the better for many people.
As for idiots that take insulin and not D then they get what's coming and l have no sympathy for them.
Me too haha! And oh my really indiana?? What happened? I was watching holby the other week and some guy had been taken insulin too even though he wasnt diabetic because he thought it would give him energy...he nearly died i think!x
Oh my hhaha sounds like a crazy but cool doctor! xHe said that he doesn't like advising people on it without knowing what it felt like and e did it whilst he was training to be a doctor.
Don't know the outcome but he's my doctor now so it can't have been that bad!

Think about it.. Say I shot up on twice the amount I normally basal for? Or maybe it's an act rapid they use?. As a D I would be screwed for the following day & that's not counting the night.
Then say I had a gig or put in hard graft on the day job..? Would that improve performance... I'd be shot away at best..
How are these guys getting hold of this insulin??? Even a small amount for a non D would F em over, especially while pumping iron...
Sorry guys I'm shocked at the stupidity..! Until this thread I've never heard of the like... I'm proud of a diabetic keeping up with the athletic "norms"...

There is a black market for anything these days and I'm pretty sure there will be diabetics selling them some of their supply. Many body-builders will consume 6000 calories a day with some even going up to around 9,000. Insulin is basically a growth hormone. The more you take, the more energy you can convert. If you do this and sit around on your a** all day eating huge amounts then that extra energy will get converted into fat and stored, if you actually use that extra extra energy burning it off while training, you build muscle. They're idiots for taking risks like that but "Stupid is as stupid does"
it could, i guess technically put someone in a coma - very maybe eventual death.Okay so in this group on facebook someone posted about what harm injecting a non-diabetic would do and people making jokes about it! Obviously it would cause harm to that person but just thought I would come on here and have a rant too ha!
It may surprise you too learn that Insulin injections were used routinely in Mental Asylums in the 1930s and 40s. It was called "insulin therapy" and was used to calm down violent or agitated patients. It was administered by staff who weren't medically qualified and one of them admitted at our local Asylum, yes we sometimes injected too much and "we lost a few".Okay so in this group on facebook someone posted about what harm injecting a non-diabetic would do and people making jokes about it! That is totally outrageous! It amazes me what people are allowed to do to others! It may surprise you too learn that Insulin injections were used routinely in Mental Asylums in the 1930s and 40s.
