There are some very interesting views on the other thread about how discrete us T1Ds should be when injecting in public. I didn't think this would be the first time someone has had grief for injecting at work, so had a bit of a google.
Turns out there is actually a construction dismissal case on this very topic. So to the OP and anyone else who is struggling it might be worth printing off that case and showing it to your line management & / or HR with a sweet smile and letting them work out that they have to make reasonable adjustments or pay the penalties
