Hi Guys,

As you may not know, I'm relevantly new to All this being newly-diagnosed t1.

My main questions are:

1.Is it ok to inject in the same area, but just rotate places around that body part? I.e I like to inject my thighs as I find it most painless? Also I can inject thru my trousers.

2.What happens when you inject into a muscle or organ by accident? I say organ as a moment ago I injected into my lower stomach thinking that it would be ok. I'm concerned that I may have injected into my bladder or something
Would you need to redo your injection?

3.What does it mean when you bleed from an injection?

4.Why is my stomach so painful to inject into?

Also, will I always be left with bruises?

1) Try to rotate using different injection sites, don't inject through clothing as you'll blunt and contaminate the needle.

2) Insulin would be absorbed faster if injected into a muscle.

3) Just means you've hit a small capillary blood vessel, nothing to worry about.

4) Try the outer areas of your stomach to see if this helps, some people do find injecting in the stomach painful, but remember to use a new needle every-time you inject which will help lessen the discomfort.

Depending on area skin layers are between 0.3 to 4mm then you have a layer of fat and muscle so to hit an organ with a pen needle is virtually impossible.

Wow thanks shar67. Didn't know that so that's one less thing to worry about

I see. Thank you very much for that. So it's advisable to change body parts each time you inject?

Pretty much what the others said, on the pain though what length are the needles you are using?
