I have a 9 year old who has been diqgnoised since she was 5 and shows no interest in doing her own injections, just want to know is there an age they shoukd be doing it themselves.

Ive have asked her why and she says she prefers me to do it; ive tryed to explain to her why its important that she trys but she says no; she does her own fingers checks at home and at school.

Or just getting her to set the pen up doing the dosage so she feels in control as she may feel she might do it wrong. I always ask my son how much he has to have he thinks my brain has gone to mush he just laughs at me and does it all himself x

Hi has she started injecting yet?
My son is nine next month diagnosed when he was 5 and he has been doing some of his own injections for about 8 months ish now, he's started doing them at school as well which made me ridiculously proud lol!
He was really hesitant at first and the only way we managed to convince him was with a reward chart for pocket money and doing his own injections earnt him more pocket money therefore he was suddenly keen to do them lol, whereas now he does them for free lol!
Good luck :)
