Hi Guys

I was wondering if any of you had any tips or techniques with injections? I can inject into stomach, hips and bum ok but my thighs really hurt! Im trying to rotate sites more and find I avoid my thighs but would be handy for more choice.

Any advice welcome!

hey lynz !!
thighs have always been my hardest place to inject ( translated that means more bleeding and bruises )
I tended to use thighs for long acting injections rather than fast acting --
I also always tried to pinch an inch with all injections and inject in the "soft hollow"

My thighs are my favourite place for pump sites and injections. I pinch up too, and choose an area carefully to avoid obvious little blood vessels. I find sitting/standing in a position that relaxes the thigh and the skin on it makes it much better too.

OK,

I use thighs for the basal... (I'm ready for bed any ways.) it's also goes back to the days of glass syringes & the training so I'm comfortable with the rotation in that area... I also use that site for bolus if on holiday in shorts. (Lol, the only time I wear shorts.)
I always "pinch up" on every injection.. I still use the stomach for the bolus but work it round to the sides, just below the ribs..
I'm a skinny guy but still find the 4mm needles disappointingly painless since starting MDI a good 28 (calculating it now.) years ago.... That's all I can say.. I believe I do have a high threshold to pain any how.

Thanks for your replies guys! Might just use the old thighs for basal...less hassle that way xx
