Hi

Has anyone got any tips for helping to 'heal' the skin where you often inject? I must have injected in my thighs for about 7-8 years and now if I try it (I inject in my stomach now instead) there are like layers of scar tissue which I can only describe as 'crispy' (yeah I know... :eh:) as I put the needle in and the last time I tried it with my Levemir I got one of those nasty lumps instantly  (it had gone down by morning).

I wondered if there are any creams or maybe bio-oil or something like that that people may have tried to help the skin recover?

Not sure if there is anything to help heal the area, usually by leaving the site alone for a period of time is enough to give it time to heal.

You can also use the upper outer arms and thighs to inject insulin as well as the buttocks, site rotation is important but as a rule insulin works fastest in the abdomen, then the arms, thighs and slowest in the buttocks, I inject my long acting (basal) insulin into my buttocks or thighs and quick-acting in the abdomen and arms.
