I am a nurse educator, there is a new product called Tartoos that facilitates injections site rotation, I am wondering if anyone has tried these? http://myvisualmedical.com
I don't think that wiping the injection site with alcohol wipes before each injection - a process the product crucially relies on - is recommended any more; I've certainly never been told to do this by my consultant and thus would not be able to use the product at all.
Certainly a worthwhile product especially for children to encourage them to rotate their injection sites. As Alex says the advice to swab the skin with a alcohol wipe first prior to injecting went out the window years ago, alcohol dries the skin out and can lead to hard skin so I'd imagine that is why the advice changed.
