When I do my injections I leave the pen in for about 10 seconds after but when I take it out there is some insulin that hasn't gone into my body. So you think I need to leave the pen in longer?

Hi,

Occasionally I can get that too.. I tend not to worry about the odd residual “spit.”

LIke @Jaylee. I don't worry about this dribble. It is a very small amount of the insulin.,
I think of it like the slight overflow when you fill the car with petrol. No matter how long you leave the pump in the tank and shake it after dispensing petrol, there will be a tiny drip when you pull the pump out. It is so small, I don't worry about being charged for this drop that I can't use.

The other thing to consider is your BG. If your BG is behaving, you are getting enough insulin.

As others have said a small dribble is fine ( oooerr missus) , I’ve had instances when I’ve removed my pen after injecting I get a lot more than I dribble , I then know I need to change my needle , I know youre suppose to change them every time but I don’t , but as with all our diabetic probs it’s all about you readings if they are ok then all is fine if not make adjustments to suit

Yep, I set my pen up for the day with the needle loaded. Work or play. & carry a spare needle/s incase I ding it putting the pen cap back on. (Or sometimes removing the cap.)

Small correction doses or boluses for me, it tends not to happen? (With the spit.)
