Injection Sites

Hi all

just wanted to ask if anyone gets numbness when they inject in their legs?

and if anyone has ever hit a vein or muscle when they have injected?

Hello litto-miss-loz,

After having spent the best part of 10 years injecting mixtard into my thighs, they became
lumpy, numb to the touch and I also noticed a mild burning sensation occasionally.
I've avoided injecting into my thighs for the past 7 or 8 years, and they've completely recovered.

A few years back I injected novorapid into leg muscle(I assume it wasn't a vein due to the
lack of blood). 15 minutes after injecting, and despite having eaten breakfast, my blood
sugar was 2.2 and still dropping

Praise the lord for Lyles golden syrup! :D

All the best,
timo.

Hello litto, i've only just recently started on insulin and i first tried injecting in my leg but i found it quite painfull, especially on the fourth day when i was due for a needle change in my insulin pen :( . I now always inject in my stomach, it's less painfull but i do notice slight bruising occasionally but no numbness :) . Hope this helps !!

hey litto

ive been diabetic for 3 years and i dont inject in my leg any more. i havent done since 2006. my legs get really numb and almost always bleed when i inject in them, so my nurse said to stop injecting in them and move on to my stomach. which is msu better and oesnt go numb or bleed.
not sure if this helps but owell.

zoee :?

Iv'e never injected into muscle , but went through a few big veins at first, pulled out the needle and it just bled lots resulting in me panicing (as I had read that the insulin works really fast, if injected into a vein) so I stuffed my face with anything I could get my hands on and ended up with mega high BGs , I survived though, and enjoyed the food  . I can avoid this now as I insert the needle slowly and if I hit a big vein it feels springy like the needle is hitting an elastic band so I just pull it out and do it somewhere else(I hit em so many times I can feel the difference now) I still occasionally go through little ones but they dont bleed much, just leave little bruises.

thanks for al ur replies everyone :)

just wondered if any of u have ended up with that lipothoropy or sumefin ?
its to do wif ur injection sites getting really lumpy ?
