Injections??

Hi everyone

Dont know if I should be posting this here or in the type 1 section.

I have read from some of your posts about stacking insulin. Does this apply to the Levimer and Novorapid acting together? On a Friday night I dont normlly get to eat to quite late and end up having to take the 2 injections pretty close together?

hi if its any help i inject both mine tgether and always have, i just dont ever inject fast acting less than 3 n half hr intervals :)

If you google stacking insulin, it will explain, but this can be a problem as it can cause hypo (low blood sugar). Please look it up.
I am on novarapid three times a day and on Lantus at night, i have never done the two together, just want you to be carefull. Make sure you check your blood sugars regularly that's all.

I just googled insulin stacking (injecting more short-acting insulin before the previous dose has "worn off"), and the results aren't really applicable here.
It is safe to take fast acting insulin analogues at the same time as short acting insulin analogues; just be careful not to over-correct by giving a correction* dose before then (you are likely to over-correct because it can be difficult to judge the final BG based on the +2h measurement)

So yes, you can take your levemir and Novorapid at the same time.

* That obviously doesn't apply e.g. if you decided to have an extra serving of potatoes half-way through a meal.
 
Your fine doing them at the same time just choose different spots as I was always told one will cancel out the other
