Inset site absorption rate difference

Hi it's me with another question.
Does where you put you onset affect your absorption of insulin.
I'm asking coz for two days I've had good BGs all under 10, some heading low toward hypo but nothing too drastic, and inset was in my thigh, towards the back changed inset this morning and put it just above hip which does have the ladylike muffin top, and my bloods have hung around 13-15 all.day. I appreciate I have changed my basal 7-11am on sat and now could need a bolus adjustment but still working on the Basal round the clock process, but wanted to know if this inset positioning makes a difference to any of the experienced pump users.

Thanks in advance.

Certain parts of my body doesn't absorb insulin that well so I usually avoid or use an increased temp basal. You could try using an 8mm set or go for the Inset 30 which is a 30 degree angle and that might work ok.
I would urge you though to just stay with the areas you have been using until you get your basic basals ok and then try other areas.

I find that certain areas need 8mm sets and certain areas need 6mm sets, so absorption is definitely area dependent. I'd go with @iHs advice for now though - get your basal rates working properly on known areas then start to look at moving them around.

@lely I find that I often need to change my basal slightly when I move sites to a different body area. What I do is use one area for a few months, then swap to another body area for a few months. That makes it easier to control, I've found.

I also use different sets for different body areas and that makes a big difference for me.

Speak to,your DSN, but maybe it would be best not to swap body areas so often and just to rotate sites in the one area that your currently using? As others have said, that would help with getting your basals right as well.

@noblehead I often need a different basal rate for different areas so I test a lot and up my basal if necessary. Before pregnancy my basal was 7.7 for the months I used my legs for sites, but when, after a few months, I swapped to my bum I had to raise the basal to 9.0 for the whole time I was using that area. I assume it's because of different fat distribution or something. So an actual proper change of basal not a TBR :)

I then rest the area I'm not using and go back to it again after a few months.

(I can't use my tummy as insulin just doesn't seem to work there any more)
