Insulin and sleep

Hi,

I've been a type 1 diabetic for a few years now(taking humalog and levemir) over the last year or so I've noticed as well as try and test that when I take my humalog for whatever I'm eating then fall asleep wether it's a nap or a sleep it brings my blood sugars down to hypo levels? I mentioned this to my nurse but she doesn't have any idea why this happens? Does this happen to anyone else?! I know I'm not taking more insulin than I need as yesterday I gave myself 1.5 units( .5 for every 10g of carbs for me)for 108g of rice but yet it still put me into a hypo while I was napping. Any ideas or advice will be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi,

What approximate time are these hypos occurring?
When do you take your basal?
What sort of sleep patterns do you have, is the nap after a day doing a shift, home then meal? (For instance.)

Sorry about the questions.

Not being able to eat as many chocolate digestives as I used to.
I think I'd also ask how the hypo's are being verified. Are you waking up and doing a finger prick test or relying on something like the Freestyle Libre?
