What’s got to be remembered though is the 500 rule, is only a guideline, a starting point to work from and fine tune, some will find it works and others will find they have to tinker with it a bit. But as you said by trial and error, you’ve found what seems to be working for you which are good…

If you aren’t having any problems except worry that in theory you insulin intake doesn’t make to what common thought say it should, I would stop worrying and think well it working so it must be right for me…

In life it’s nice to be an individual
In diabetes it a complete nightmare, as the theory sounds easy but the practice tells a different story..

i used to take humalog insulin and now on lantus and novarapid l take lantus once per day at 5pm and l have suffered no problems with this and my blood readings have been fine ,guess not everyones the same and medication can effect people different,you got to try whats best for you ,take care anne x
