hi, I had my insulin doses put up from 10 twice a day to 14 jn the morning and 18 evening because I was due an operation and my levels where to high, should they be put back down, although for the first time my levels are reasonable.

Surely if they was too high before the operation or whatever and they are fine now then that answers your question? That you need to be on that dosage lol? :) x

I agree with ohitsnicola. If your levels were high and the new doses have now put your levels at the correct level, why would you change back?

If your levels are now good and fairly level then it sounds like they were just adjusting your basal dose.

If it is good now I would say stick with it but watch out for regular hypos since that may indicate that perhaps it does need reducing a little.

Which insulin are you taking?

If it's giving you a headache it might be worth asking to try a different one.

Hi. Use the meter to guide you and make changes over several days but I suspect the shots need to come back down a bit.
thankyou for your input, I am going to phone my diabetic nurse on Monday to discuss this as I get headaches every morning just after taking my insulin
