Hi Y'all
hope everyone is doing well.
i have my appointment with the DN - she checked everything and asked me a few questions and then prescribed me insulin Glargine which is a long acting insulin, - 14 units, i will get phone call on Monday to see if my levels have improved and whether to add fast acting also, - of course 3 days in now and my levels haven't made any difference. - yes, i know it will take time to settle in and start to work. with all medication. i inject in the morning and i check my levels and throughout the day i am still hovering around 19-24mmol and at the clinic when the DN checked it was HI. with a 0.3 ketone. - i mentioned my meals to the DN and she told me everything was OK. from my chicken wraps which i take to work - to my tuna bowl mix which i usually have every other day. and i did mention i eat carbs as rice or bread, - but, will always mix with fibre and protein - and the bread is when i am at work and i will get a prawn sandwich- and my Curry i have with the paratha i have cut down. the DN mentioned to me that my pancreas is tired and that it needs the help from insulin and she said that just because i am on insulin doesn't mean i won't still produce my own insulin. so, i am producing insulin but my body is just far tired from the high blood sugars. it is interesting chat i had with her although i am hoping this insulin i am injecting helps me- i highly doubt it will since i have been on it before and it hasn't helped me but- i have to try again since i am out of options now. anyway i don't know what else to say other than if anyone is on this insulin what are your experiences and if it is any good?- the DN said it is a good type of insulin and newer.
hope everyone is doing well.
