Hello. I have heard that you can now get a insulin impant that replaces your daily insulin injections. It is implanted into you and releases insulin as and when you need it. I have tried searching for more information on this but am unable to find any. I am looking for a bit more information so that I can go to my doctors and ask about this. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks :D

Hi,

There are many things such as this that are being thought of and maybe even being developed, as far as i'm aware nothing of this standard is available yet.

I've heard of implants, smart insulin and many other things that certain companies have in the pipeline but nothing concrete. Which is maybe why when you search for it not alot comes up.

I will do a search though, see what i can find :)

Hi nmatier,

What you're describing sounds a lot like the device invented by Professor Joan Taylor from De Montfort University. I first learned of it when she was interviewed on radio 4 back last year.
