Insulin Injections

I have had type 2 for about 10 years which has been controlled with Metformin and Gliclazide Tabs.
3month ago I was taken off these tablets and put on insulin NOVOMIX 30. My units have been increased every week and at the moment I am on 43 mornings and 44 evenings as instructed by my diabetic nurse. I am concerned and depressed that my readings have gone worst than when I was on the Tablets and don't show any signs of improving. My reading are between 9 and 15.
Is it worth it I ask myself , can anyone give me any comfort. Please.

Hi. Are you a bit overweight? If so you will need to inject quite a high amount of insulin to cope with insulin resistance. I can't comment on your Novomix number of units and whether they are high or compared with 'normal'. Hopefully you can get help from the DN whether or not you are overweight. If you don't mind more injections you might want to discuss moving to a Basal (plus Bolus) regime which can be more flexible. This provides either just long-acting (18-24hr) (Basal) insulin and optionally a rapid-acting (Bolus). There are pros and cons for each regime. May be a different mixed insulin will be relevant; again discuss with the DN.
