Can you give us a bit more information?
What is your current sugar level? Is it 9?
Did you inject 11 units of NovoRapid insulin?
Have you eaten?

Yes, it can take 1 and 1/2 hours or more to start coming down. Just keep testing and it should shift soon.

For BS above 13 it can take 2 or 3 hours.

was that 11u the dose for you pending meal and a correction? or just a correction and then you bolused for your meal just before eating?

I agree with the others, it's not very rapid at all. Especially if you are inactive following the injection.

Sorry @static192, I asked all those questions and then got waylaid! I can't add anything to what others have said: like them I often find that NovoRapid is slow, but that it's really all about timing - and for me, I find that life often gets in the way of that! I find NovoRapid quick at breakfast but probably because it coincides with my daily Basal. I have a tendency to forget the action of Basal! So I test at 5am say, having woken early, and find my blood sugar is going too low. I don't usually snack or treat. Then at 7am my Basal has come to an end, my bs is creeping up until it's modified by my next Basal injection and by my Bolus injection to match breakfast. I try to stick to a routine so I know what to expect, but it doesn't always work!
