Insulin Pen Dosage problems

As there is a problem with Humalog vials I have just started to use the Humalog pens.
I follow the procedures and set the dial to my required dosage, inject and depress the button. Instead of the dose counter slowly/evenly reducing it suddenly clicks down 2 or more units.
The nurses at my local hospital assure me that the pen is dispensing the correct dose BUT my blood sugar levels say otherwise.

Am I doing something wrong?? Is the pen faulty??

I would be grateful for your comments

Welcome to the forum @PaulGB

The disposable humalog pen does click as you're giving insulin, but if you think it's faulty I'd try another one.

If it's the reusable pen, I don't know, sorry.

Many things impact blood sugar levels, like brewing an illness that you're not aware of yet, stress etc, so it may be the pen, but maybe not.

Thanks for your response. I'll keep on with this pen for a bit then try another pen
