Just received post from NHS to say i am being upgraded to a closed loop system pump. I have been given the choice to pick one from a group of three which include the
Tandem T Slim x2
Omnipod 5
Ypsomed
Any one have a recommendation or preferences to which is the best as it is my first venture it to tubeless closed loop systems. Need to reply to NHS within 14 days so acquiring knowledge about the 3 choices thanks.

Hi Phi_t

I am in a similar position to you. I have been offered the opportunity to upgrade to closed loop. I only have one option that will be funded and that is Omnipod 5 with FSL2+. I have opted to go for closed loop. I am now using FSL2+ in preparation.
No date for change as yet.

I have been using Omnipod Dash for some time and the only issue I have experienced is some redness around the cannula insertion site. This is helped by using patches and cavilon spray.

I have previously used a tubed pump (Medtronic) and for me I would not want to go back using a tubed pump.

Good luck with your decision making

I had to give up using Omnipod as whatever I tried, the pods only lasted 2 days maximum.

I'm currently using Tslim (which is a tube pump) and like it.

I'd suggest looking at reviews on YouTube of each pump, and having a checklist of things you want/prefer not to have. It's very much a personal preference really.

I have to say I’ve recently moved to Medtronic and that’s much better than the tandem (for me)
