Hi everyone please can you help me . my daughter is 6 and has been diagnosed type 1 since she was 4 . she has had enough of the jabs now bless her and is getting bruised . we are looking into getting her a pump . I've been told about the omnipod pump and about the minimed paradigm veo one . my daughter liked the look of the mini med but coz it was purple . has anyone got a pump or do u know anything about the pumps please advise me on which one is best . many thanks Marie a worried mum

One with a handset..... It is important for parents to be able to control a childs bolus's and basals and changes without having to take a pump off to do it! Especially when a child goes to school etc. if there's a remote the child does not feel so different as other children etc just think its an electronic gadget.

The new accuchek Insight is phenomenal...

thanks so much. Is the sccuchek insight with a wire ?

Insight has tubes from 30 to 100cm's.. Depending where you where it and the length you need.

I wear mine on my arm and the tube tucks nicely under my clothes. I only take it off for baths.. (Don't need to do this now, as it is waterproof). It is beautifully comfy on my arm.

The new design of this has the tube coming out sideways at the bottom which is superb for me on my arm.

Yes, it is visible on my arm under tubigrip but in all honesty I find it a pain in the ass anywher else. I am a gardener so do a lot of bending and lumping bags around etc and it would get broken on my stomach and as I don't wear bras (cos I so small!!) its wonderful being anle to strip off at any time and never have to worry about the pump roaming in bed, tucking it into pj's, taking down trousers for the loo etc...

The Insight in my opinion is the best abailable at the moment...
