Hi. Thanks for the interest. My usual FBG range testing at home is between 4.4 and 5.2 - anything higher or lower is a surprise and in the 4.6 - 4.9 range most often.
Did have to travel to the clinic and the fasting glucose test done by the lab was 5.6, which is higher than I’d expect and a big jump from the 4.1 measured at home that morning (always have a rise in the morning but not usually such a big one), so yes liver probably dumping away and also a bit of anxiety as blood draws are often difficult and painful (although this one wasn’t).
Medichecks did say the test needed to be done before 10am, but I wonder what the result would be if I tested fasted later in the day - would assume that so long as only water had been consumed then the time of day isn’t so important.

@Bluetit1802 I misread your question and thought you were asking for my standard range! According to the Medichecks info below 2 on the insulin resistance scale is normal. For the fasting insulin below 8 is good but around 4 to 5 better and I think at least a score of 1 or you’d be type 1! So mine is quite high.
