Insulin stacking up

I've noticed recently that I'm getting a lot of insulin stacking up and not being used up as quick as it used to. I was told that this happens more the older you get but don't really understand why. I change my sites on a regular basis and would like to know if anyone else has found this happens to them.

Insulin needs and responses change over time. There can be many reasons. Is it that your bolus is not acting as you expect? Have you done a basal test and adjusted ratios?

I've made several adjustments due to high readings by this has never happened before when making adjustments.
