Insulin To Carb Ratio! HELP ME!!

How much insulin do I need to take for 23.5g of Carbs?
Different people need different amounts, we cannot tell how much you need and it would be dangerous to even suggest a number, eg on the carb counting course I went on, one person only needed 1 unit per 50 carbs (yes I gasped when I heard that), whilst another needed 1 unit for 2 or 3carbs, ie a huge huge huge difference - basing what you taking on someone elses ratios can be very dangerous

As I vaguely implied in your other thread you can work it out by knowing how many carbs you ate, how much insulin you took and what happened to you blood sugar - but it does involve recording everything and then some careful trial and error - the course youre going on shoudl be able to teach you thins - and you'll have some nurses keeping an eye on things

You can gain a lot by starting to get used to counting carbs yourself.
What about working out the carbs in your meals to your best knowledge, and noting your before and after meals BG alongside the carb count?

This is the whole game in a nutshell really so why wait practising with that?

You take fixed amounts of insulin at the moment. So count the carbs in your meals and see what happens in relation to your doses.
