I will be going down to London from Up North, soon. My insulin will not be refridgerated for some 4 hrs both ways.Is this ok? Or will it adversely affect or render it useless. Similarly, How long is insulin effective in a temperature of say 20c when you out dinning?

Insulin when unopened needs to be stored between 2 - 8 deg C. Once you are using it then it only needs to be stored at room temperatures for up to 30 days. There should be no problem travelling with it providing it is not left in extremes of temperatures.

The information with regard to the particular Insulin should be in your PIL (patient information leaflet) delivered with the drug.

I use Byetta which has to be stored/used in exactly the samne way and regularly travel up and down the M/Way in summer/winter.....no problems whatsoever.
