Hi all.. recently diagnosed with LADA after 2 years thinking was type2.. initially put on glamiparide with my metformin. Sugars came down to a decent level after a day or so.. so a week ago came off my tablets and started on background insulin. Was just 2 clicks at night.. now I'm on 6 clicks morning and evening but my sugars are going up and up. Why would this be so? Any info much appreciated
Cheers lee

Hi There.... it would be in your best interest to have a discussion with your care team sooner rather than later. If shoogs are rising it sounds as though you will need an insulin for your food as well as a background insulin ..a background insulin is meant to keep your sugars fairly flat as long as you don't eat ..............

Hi. LADA progresses as beta cells fail. This can take months or years. You will need the Basal/Bolus (aka MDI) insulin regime before long (per NICE Guidelines) so do discuss this with the GP. Once your HBa1C goes above 7% even with a low-'ish carb diet might be the right time?
