Hi all,
I have been given Insulin Lantus a few weeks ago and I notice that when I take a reading before bed and take my Insulin my reading in the morning is higher I don't understand how it is higher.

as noblehead said do basal testing

are you T2 and getting a helper shot?
it may be dawn phenomenon, what are your pre, lunch and tea numbers?

a lot of T2 and some T1 follow a low carb diet LC - LCHF, there is quite a lot of information on the site

As others have said do some Basal tests. It's possible you need to increase your dose slightly; aim for between 5 to 7mmol as a rough guide in the morning

Doctor told me to use 8 units and increase if I needed to, I now do 20?
