The problem in trying to give you a reply is that while the DCUK website hosts the forum, the folks on here (including the moderator team) have no influence on, or particular knowledge about, what appears on the website.
You might find that some members have relevant experience on income protection and health insurance that might be helpful. It's a year or two since I did anything in this respect (I made some changes after I retired) and I found insurers to be almost completely uninformed about diabetes. For example, one told me that I couldn't possibly have the HbA1c that I do, because it wasn't a diabetic level, and that it was impossible not to be on medication. Didn't get my business.
