Hi,

Find the section on the forum you wish to start a topic. There is a green button top right of the page, click it give your topic a title & compose your thread & post.

Hope this helps. You'll find your way about in no time!

 
Hi guys,

I am new to this but here we go. Nice to meet you all by the way!

I was told by my GP yesterday that i am technically a type 2 diabetic but will need to go for another blood test next week to confirm. My father is insulin dependent and has been for years. I am overweight and literally do no exercise. After yesterday, my life is changing. I've signed up to a body transformation centre to work out 5 days per week and will get nutritional advice and recipes from them.

The thing i really dont understand is WHAT do i do now? It is only a matter of weeks before i actually get officially diagnosed, so why not plan ahead?

Are there local groups or some ways to meet people in my area who are in a similar situation or is it mainly online support?

Mayoburt - If you're struggling with starting a new thread yourself, I could move your post to a place you might receive more responses?

OK - I'm new here and newly diagnosed...... pretty worried, scared and confused right now.......

- Microsoft or Apple? - Apple - not a fan, it just works for me
- Which sport(s) (if any) do you like/play? - Just taken up lawn bowls

Hi all!
Im Mairi-Therese
IM female and am 23years old
I have been a type 1 diabetic for 18years now (yay!)
I am currently at college doing photography and have in the past done animal care level 2
I have had many piercings on the ear (all of my left) and my nose however after 3years of no problems they have been taken out sadly.
I have had several pet chickens and a cat who is now 10years old (Merlin).
I have two tattoos on my left arm and am very happy with it.

I am new to this forum and wondered does anyone have any other conditions along side diabetes? (i have a few more illness's and could use some advice)

I am Janine, and I am the mother of a T1 pumper who was diagnosed back in 2009. I have joined this site as my friends have said for a while that it a great place to gain further information and personal experiences (though I am very aware that everyone has different health needs/experiences).

I am hoping to find more people to communicate with and share advice and/or support with. Things have been a bit bumpy recently as we transitioned to pump therapy in June and as my daughter is 12, her hormones aren't her best friend right now.

- Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, where? 3 tattoos (one on each bicep and one on my right shoulder blade), the piercings I have are 2 in my right earlobe, one in my left, my nose, tongue, lip and navel, I did have my eyebrow pierced but it was torn out.
- List your five favourite musicians/bands. Within Temptation, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nightwish, Hammerfall. Alestorm.
- What would you say your favourite music genre is? Metal/Rock
- What is your favourite flag? A white flag, I surrender!
- Ever gone camping? Yes, absolutely love it, especially when combined with other outdoor activities.
- Ever been in love? Absolutely.
- Ever used fake tan? Yes, back when I was 14... The results were frankly horrendous
- Which countries have you visited? Only England (different places, does it count?), Scotland and Wales.
- Favourite city? Keswick, it's beautiful.
