Hi, I have been diagnosed T2 for 10 years and have done my very best to ignore it. This has been due to working in the emergency services and fearing that the loss of my driving licence would result in the loss of my job if I ever had to go on insulin. Stupid I know, I have been very good at looking after others and rubbish at looking after myself. I have finally hit a point where the fear of getting ill and having complications is greater than the fear of losing my livelihood. I have been looking at the site for several days now and have learnt a lot from it already. I have many questions that I hope members will be able to help me with in the future.
First of all......is there a savoury biscuit I can have with cheese that is zero carbs?????.....I crave the crunch!

Hi @chevy57, and welcome to the Forum! Just ask away - I did and the help and replies were fantastic. I do hope that you are able to keep on working - a very difficult position for you to be in - and looking after yourself. There are quite a few recipes on the internet (check out dietdoctor.com) for savoury biscuits for cheese (the thing that I thought I would never be able to have again) - I recently made these an they hit the spot, and don't collapse like some of the nutty ones (which are delish though): https://www.lowcarbmaven.com/crispy-almond-sesame-crackers/ Loads of other cracker recipes on here and the internet. Now all I need to find is a low-carb chutney recipe and my fave meal of cheese, chutney and biccies is back on!

Hi all,
New to the forum. A bit down as diabetic nurse now put me on half an 80mg cliklazide pill a day, and gave me an accu? Blood monitor and needles and strips to test my blood am and a n other test later, 2 hrs after a meal. As I said, feeling down, incase I have to give up my car and therefore my self employed business. Already surviving on savings, not enough work.

Off to visit the grandkids two provinces away. I'm taking "snacks" so I don't have to eat fast food garbage while traveling. Sure hope o can stick to the LCHF while I'm gone (some resistance from hubby, not sure he understands how important it is).

Welcome, it's a great place to come and get helpful info. I'm so happy I joined everyone here
Looking forward to learning more about low carbs
