Hi All

I'm a single dad of three kids with two daughters with T1 diabetes, My daughter Rachel was diagnosed at the age of 5 and now is 21 and my other daughter Linda was diagnosed at the age of 4 n half and now is 14yrs old.

Been a diabetic since aged 3 (18 years) type 1, currently injecting 6 times a day with Novorapid and Levemir Insulins, just got myself a new glucose meter and it's great

Hi, have had diabetes 20 years in August - havent been well controlled and until a couple of years ago I hardly tested my bs and just relied on how I felt (how stupid was I) I know test 6-8 times a day although last hba1c was 9.4 so not very good.

Recently been diagnosed with dupuytren's contracture which my doctor said is a result of poorly controlled diabetes - does anyone else have this? does anyone know what it is? I have lumps on my hands but dont know much more about it.

Hi My names Christine and my husband has recently been diagnosed with diabetes I will be researching ways to improve his situation ( including his diet0

My name is Maureen.I was diagnosed Type 2 about 9-10 years ago I think it was. I had a lot going on healthwise at the time, so this specific date not clear. I followed hte usual path, try diet alone - not enough. Then a spell on meds orally, increasing amount. Then onto insuline - currently basal level only, at night. Plus, of course, the other meds then added to cover associated issues. Plus, because I now only have one kidney, the meds are higher to try to give extra care to the remaining one. I am 55; I live in London at the moment, and had to retire early due to ill health. Thankfully, because my employer accepted medical reports and Occupational Health review (plus fantastic support from my union), I receive my work pension early, with a bit on top as industrial injury. Without that, I would be in trouble financially. A few months after I retired, my husband retired on age grounds, so we have time together that we might not have had before. I am RC, although for various reasons, I have not attended church for a while. But my faith remains. I am a dog-lover, currently one female cocker, 8 year old Sasha.
I have never camped, but we usually go self catering, and I esp love France. Musically I like most things - except extremes in some modern, or very discordant. But I do have soft spots for Swing, rock, and gentle blues/jazz.

I met my husband when I was 15; married at 18, and would not change that. We are still together. :thumbup:

Include any other questions you may have Do you have any other health problems as these sometimes affect our control?
