Hi. All, My name is Richard, type 2 diabetic for around 20 years. My weight is out of control (146kg) and my blood glucose with it. Had blood test last week hb1ac was described as "off the scale" I think a figure of 130 was mentioned. Finger prick test by the nurse was 24! I'm already on Metformin and Gliclazide. Action required! I'm in Braintree, Essex, UK. I'm 59, married for 37 years with two grown up Sons and 4 grand daughters. I enjoy wood turning although I'm not as good as I'd like to be. I have a marine fish tank which I enjoy. I work part time self employed in temporary traffic management. We have a chocolate coloured Cockapoo called Charlie. I have a couple of tattoos, most notable of which is ET bursting out of my belly! I can't remember any more of the questions [emoji23] Reading this forum is like a breath of fresh air,! The dn asked me what I eat in a typical day, when I listed it she said, that doesn't seem unreasonable, why do you think you are so overweight...... I've found the answer here in this forum. From what I'm reading, while you still accept carbs in your diet, the diabetes is self fulfilling, it's like a viscious circle. I need help.
