We  try to help her whenever we can, she has learning difficulties so needs advice every so often about diets and what is suitable so have joined this forum to get feedback from the more experienced i.e. you out there.Research online can only give me an idea as to what is going on.She has recently been put on insulin, but her levels are highly unstable at the moment.
