Hi, my name is Carol and I am too jolly old :D 68 I was diagnosed T2 on 25 March this year with a nice high reading of 20.3 mmol/L. I am still getting use to what I can and cannot have to eat, learning what does and does not spike my B and sometimes feel frustrated that I cannot find enough recipes to have a varied diet - but I will not give up, I may fall back occasionally but it is my hope that I can eventually control it using diet and exercise alone. My medication was changed from Gliclazide on the 1st May to 4 x 500grm Metformin. In the first three days it made me very very ill. as it was the long weekend I decided to take a chance and cut it back to 2 per day one in the morning and one with dinner. My nurse was amazed at how I had got it down so low and I told her lchf and she said keep doing what you are doing. Blood pressure has also returned to normal. For the rest have taken the easy way and just added my answers to the questions: - Are you male or female? Female - Which country are you from? England - Which city/area do you live in? Kent - Are you religious? Nope - Pick three words to describe your personality. An Optimist, Helpful - Do you have any pets? A Border Collie Cross - Microsoft or Apple? Microsoft - Which sport(s) (if any) do you like/play? None - except Wii Tennis, Bowling, Slalom, Jogging & Cycling :) - Do you get angry easily? Not as much as I used to ... - Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, where? Nope - List your five favourite musicians/bands. - What would you say your favourite music genre is? - What is your favourite flag? Yes the Yellow or Blue ones in the garden ;) - Ever gone camping? Oh Yes - Ever been in love? Of course - Ever used fake tan? Yes, least said about that, soonest mended - Which countries have you visited? Italy, France, Greece, Australia, Wales & Scotland - Favourite city? Canterbury - List your five favourite TV programmes. Antique Road Trip, Flog it, Bargain Hunt, New Tricks' Have I got News for You - List your five favourite films. Independence Day, 8 Legged Freaks, I Robot, The Mummy, Fifth Element ... - Are you wealthy? Yes, but not money wise - Do you work? If so, as what? Retired - List the subjects you study/have studied. - What do you like most about yourself? Ability to turn my hand to most things - What do you like least about yourself? Too podgy And I intend to ... Have fun!
