Hi all :-) My name is Lucy.....aka Loopy! I'm also a Type 1. Have been diabetic for.......hang on just trying to work out the years lol.......nearly 37 years :-S Was diagnosed in 78 so have seen many many changes over the years. Was heavily involved in the British Diabetic Association (as Diabetes UK was known back in the day) when I was in my teens but have not been involved in any group regarding Diabetes for many years. So thought I'd bite the bullet and try coming on here for the first time. I'm not sure how much I really know about Diabetes, its so variable depending on the person. And I am still learning about my own condition as it changes with my age I'm finding. I've recently had a few changes after a prolonged stay in hospital (not connected with my diabetes). This has changed/diminished my awareness of hypoglaecaemia (excuse the spelling lol) which is quite scary. #I suppose it is this that has prompted me to come on here and hopefully chat with a few new people :-) Feel free to come n chat or quiz me on my past experiences if it will help you. I hope to chat with some of you soon :-)
