Hi! I am fotizo, am 31 and live in Germany. I was diagnosed with T2, then "switched" to T1 around seven years ago. Out of foolishness I didn't manage my disease all that well – fairly half-heartedly – but recently decided that I need to get this under control.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all and discussing with you!
There's no time like the present to get better control, knowledge will help you learn what you need to know to help become more confident at managing this, lots of helpful advice around too, best wishes J

I have seen quite a few posts by T1s who started off their diabetes journeys rather carelessly and later regretted it (especially young ones, which is totally comprehensible). I'm sure you'll find good company and fellow feeling here as well as advice and support.

I hope you manage to achieve your goal. I was Type 1 for 54 years and behaved as though I didn't have it for a large part of the first 20 years. I paid for that with retinopathy, nephropathy and Charcot foot. I must say that when I started to take things very seriously in late 1978, the rot slowed down and allowed me to soldier on till undergoing a kidney/pancreas transplant in 2013. I reckon you stand a very good chance of living a decent life and staving off all the horrors in the cupboard! The very best of luck.
