Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I was diagnosed two years ago with Type 2 Diabetes. I've been on various different medications, but seem to be settled for the moment on Metformin 500mg (4 times a day) and Lyxumia injections.
When I was first diagnosed I did a stint with LCHF, but fell by the wayside mainly because my living situation got in the way and made it very difficult to be "the odd one out" eating a totally different diet to the other people I lived with.
Life has changed significantly and I am the controller of the kitchen (I don't think my husband knows where the kitchen is!) - I have decided that now is the right time to really give this a go to lose weight and change my lifestyle.

I am 35, recently married, and do not have children at present (although I'm hoping that will change... and has influenced my decision to get a grip on my diabetes). We have a young dog who has changed both of our lives. Since getting her, we have spent so much time outdoors and overall fitness levels have increased so significantly that now feels like the right time to make a permanent diet change.

Regards,

Dixie x

Well done. Also congrats to Fido, who is obviously a significant influence in your life now.
Don't use xylityol sweetener (I've just said that on another thread so it's in my mind.) It's dangerous to dogs.
