Inverse Vaccines.

An interesting article about work being done at the University of Chicago.

New type of vaccine being developed for autoimmune disorders.

That is really interesting. I suspect not of much use to long term T1s who no longer produce insulin but could be a massive help to those newly diagnosed.

I do hope that this inverse vaccine turns out to be a success. Especially for those with multiple screlosis. My husband had primary progressive multiple screlosis and, for the last 30 years of his life, every day was a real struggle. Even before he lost his ability to walk, his eyesight become so poor that his driving license was taken away. That was a hard blow for a sociable man. The best that the doctors did for the rest of his life was to prescribe painkillers and antidepressants. Whereas I consider my life is ok thanks to insulin. I was able to manage his wheelchair, meals, and help with personal hygiene.
