Hello i have not been on here for ages and wanted to say hello again and ask anyone if they know of INVOKANA (Canagliflozin) for people like me with diabetes type 2. I'm currently using Humulin M3 and Victoza daily but my leveles keep rising very high and I keep getting HI readings on my blood sugar monitor. If anyone has heard of this new medication please advise if it will help to control my blood sugars, many thanks and HI again x

Hi

At this point in time, as far as I am aware, canagliflozin is not approved for EU use although I believe it has now been OKd by the FDA in the USA. Dapagliflozin is approved for EU use and is used widely in Scotland but less so in England. That said, I live in England and I am on dapagloflozin. It helps reduce blood sugar levels and weight by excreting glucose (and its associated calories) via the kidneys and urine. This link has further information: http://www.astrazeneca.com/Media/Press- ... 2-diabetes

Hope this helps

Doug
