Invokana issues

Help!

I’ve been a type two diabetic for around 20 years. My last couple of HBA1c tests have been 75 to 77 and I had been doing low carb for part of that time.
I was on 4 slow release metformim, Gliclazide x 3 and the GP has added 100mg Invokana (Canagliflozin).

Right from the start it has caused a lot of irritation in the ladies intimate area and a sore weepy rash under the breasts.
I had to get my husband to buy Canestan Combi fro the Chemist for me as I was refused it once due to being over 60.
I had to repeat the treatment a couple of weeks later. The diabetes nurse said she would like me to persevere for a while. My blood glucose does not appear to have gone down much, if at all and I am wondering what to do next.

I went to chat to the local pharmacist to explain that she didn’t think it was thrush but some form of irritation cause by the drug and prescribed me vagisil cream for down below and daktacort for the breast rash.

is there any point in continuing with this medication as the creams are not helping much?
Anyone else had this sort of issue? My BMI is around 27 so not high enough for the new injection that a friend told me about

Speak to your doctor and tell him

I'm also wondering what your low carb diet looks like, though of course you need to see your doctor immediately about the current problems. Many T2s would have a much lower hba1c if eating low carb.

If you would let us know some typical meals, we might be able to suggest some tweaks you can make which could improve your readings while still being delicious.
