I haven't come across this before, is there any reason why you are interested in it ?

I'd also be interested in knowing about it or rather what its like using it as I have also considered trying it out.

That's exactly the same reason why I was looking into it, my injection sites need a rest, heck I need a rest!

Sorry to hear that @Nickkim I also found lantus stung too when I used it. Just checking with your finger pricking that your using the sides of your pads and rotating around the fore, middle, ring and little fingers ? Also check your setting on your lancet so that it's on the minimal setting available to draw blood ? When I was first diagnosed I struggled with the injections so used to hum what ever song was going round in my head at the time to distract myself from thinking about it, I swear by using distraction techniques when doing something that you hate doing.

Sounds like a pretty awful time for you, not getting the right results and then getting told off for not getting it right, pretty unfair, but it's good you know now your type and your treatment will help you manage much better. You're still relatively new to this so I understand your anxiety with testing and injecting, it's common but it will ease in time and I can understand why this device would be really useful, however it may be wise to think about an insulin pump too, you'll need to speak to your team about it but it will help lessen the anxiety with injecting and getting access to either a libre sensor or another continuous glucose monitoring system would also help greatly.

In regards to your mother's diabetes it's difficult to comment without knowing how well controlled she was and if she took care of herself or not, however it's perfectly possible to live complication free if you manage well with this, there are courses, books and of course support here which will help you, personally a good book I suggest to all type 1's is 'Think like a pancreas' which is incredibly useful for learning about good management and written by a type 1.

Lantus will still sting when using them because it is slightly acidic, which is part of it's pharmcodynamic properties, and how it forms a precipitate.

Hi I am trying to get an iport advance the suppliers won't issue me as they have duty of care. They want a letter of support from Doctor or DSNs I have spoken to DSNs 3x and left messages but they are not getting back to me. Very frustrating. My skin is sore and painful. I live in hope.
