Irregular periods after starting insulin?

Hi all, for those of you who have periods, did starting insulin affect your cycle?
I started insulin mid March (basal) then added bolus from mid April. Since April, my period cycle has gone from like clockwork to suprising me by starting a few days early every single month, reducing my cycle everytime. I’m already battling insulin resistance for 4-5 days around ovulation, a massive increase in insulin sensitivity for 3-4 days before my period arrives (don’t need bolus for any meals, and keep getting a hypo anyway), then I will go insulin resistant again for the first few days of my period. It’s an exhausting cycle. I do a low carb diet so my insulin dosing with meals is relatively low normally which helps me on those 2 weeks of the month where my sugars are stable. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if they found anything that helped. Thank you!

I didn’t find insulin affected my cycle but I found my cycle affected my insulin resistance/sensitivity.
I learnt how it was affected and was able to adjust my basal to account for it. This was a great reason to avoid the very long acting insulins like Tresiba (I believe it is of limited use for women for this reason).
Whenever I tried eating low carb, I found it very challenging because I had to bolus for protein. I found it too exhausting to learn and remember the insulin to protein ratios for every different type of protein I ate.
