I don't think that 26g is a HUGE amount.
Is that ALL you had though?
I'd be more concerned about the after effects of chowing down on half a tin of beans!
Yes it is. And a cup of tea.... And I feel stuffed.
I don't eat a lot. I only ear when I'm hungry.I don't eat breakfast 'til about 11.00 and that is always the same. 1 piece of toasted wholemeal bread (unbuttered) 1 slice of Aldi ham and a fried free range egg which I dry fry in my lovely non stick frying pan.
That keeps me going 'til about 3.00 and I always cook a dinner about 6-7pm. I usually eat a portion of liver and a pile of courgettes, broccoli,(No butter or gravy) mushrooms and onions which I cook in the barest minimum of olive oil. The I have a couple of small glasses of rose wine and always end up having a brandy and orange and then bed at about midnight and up at 7am.
I don't think I eat badly. I don't eat sweets or chocolate or crisps or drink fizzy drinks.... I never eat potatoes. This isn't for any dietry reasons I just don't seem to get hungry. I feel like I have had a gastric band. The reason I went to my doctor about a fortnight ago was to find out why my tummy has got so huge. She suggested a blood test and that is when I was told I am type 2.
My last blood test was I suppose about 3 years ago and I was told that I was almost type 2 and to watch my diet. I was put on Simvastatin at 40 mg a day as my cholesterol was 7.6 My cholesterol is now 5.2 which I am very happy with as I always take my Simvastatins. I was diagnosed with Emphasyma in Jan 2011 and my life fell apart as I have lost my Dad,Uncle, partner and sister. They were all dead at 52 except my partner who died in 2003 aged 49.
When I moved into a 1 bed flat in 2006 I weighed 10 stone and didn't have an ounce of fat on me as IU had been extremely active for most of my life and was a gardener for 30 years.I now weigh 15 stone and look dreadful and have lost all my confidence.
Since my Emphasyma diagnosis my weight has rocketed as I do virtually no exercise these days and get very breathless very quickly.
I am also pretty depressed and don't go out much. Luckily I live near a bus stop and twice a week I go to Aldi,my favourite shop in the small town where I live. The town is on one big hill and I can't walk back from shopping as it is uphill all the way.
So this type 2 diagnosis I am hoping will be the kick up the **** that I need to lose this weight, learn to drink responsibly and eat slightly better.
I am very happy I found this forum as you are all so supportive....
