Been diabetic for 14 years. Keep it controlled. Old money reading about between 7/9 . Just had blood results back. In new reading it’s 64 . Don’t understand it . Been on 4 metformin a day now they want to put me on dapagflorin . Can I exercise on it without getting hypo ??

Yes 64 mmol/mol is high.

An HbA1c result under 43 mmol/mol is considered normal, 43 to 48 is classed as pre-diabetic or borderline, while a reading over 48 is diabetic.

Dapagliflozin seldom causes hypos.

You're probably used to hba1cs measured in %s whereas now (in the UK at least) they use mmol/mol. (I must admit it took me a long time to get used to the "new" units.)

64mmol/mol is 8%
