Is bread evil?

@cold ethyl How did you identify the gluten sensitivity? It is quite a buzz word at the mo, some people say gluten can even cause diabetes.

Sainsburys do a low carb bread called HiLo very small slices so quite expensive at around £1 40 a loaf Waitrose do one called LivLife again small slices and about the same price. I have the HiLo sometimes I am not to keen on the LivLife one I found that really dry

It started as a teenager. I'd eat bread or pasta then my body would swell up. I'm not a coeliac but I always know when I've had something with wheat in particular in it as I bloat , get terrible gas and aching joints. I think we are learning that heavily processed grain is not our friend. I know folk ate a lot of bread in the past, but it certainly wasn't the white pap we get now - even wholemeal and seeded bread from the big manufacturers isn't what our granny would have recognised as bread.

Livlife low carb bread all the way! the only bread I can eat without spiking. I'm doing LCHF so sometimes fry it up in a bit of coconut oil and have it with an egg or some bacon for brekkie. Sometimes only bread will do. It's so handy to have as a snack, with some cheese or avocado. You can get it in waitrose, but it's not always in stock so I order it off amazon.

I gave up all grains in November last year after reading the book "Grain Brain". I don't miss it, even though I used to bake my own bread. I didn't feel a need to replace real bread with fake grain-free bread.

Bread is not evil, it is an inanimate object and hence lacks the self awareness to have the attribute of evilness. Only huans are evil or berhaps higher creatures like apes or cetaceans .
However is bread is not good for me and i substitute nuts in my baking and wrap food in leves for sandwiches.

If I eat bread my bs rises to double figures so I don't eat bread! Rice, pasta and sugar have the same effect so I don't eat those either. LCHF rules!
