Partly because it tastes just a bit sweet and partly because I read it can reduce bs levels, I have been adding this to yoghurt and today made cinnamon stick tea (hot water poured over Stick!). It tasted so sweet to me so I looked it up. It has 81 carbs per 100g. Wow!!! Does anyone know if it is ok? How can something with that many carbs be good for bs, at least in theory? Web searches suggest it is, but boy, 81 per 100... (Noted that needs to be Ceylon not cassis cinnamon, which can cause irritations etc)

I buy Cinnulin PF capsules. It's supposed to be the best part of the cinnamon only. I've been taking 600mg per day, with 800mg of Chromium as well. I've been doing this since June 2014 (along with a low carb diet - about 50grams per day). My hba1c in October 2014 was 5.5. I'm not sure what has done the "trick", but they certainly haven't done my bs any harm.

A teaspoonful = 5 grams. 1 teaspoon is the recommended amount. Therefore there are about 4 grams of carbs. Not much really?

Hi, good point BR, thank you! As a recent convert to carb watching, I think I over reacted!
