your ldl dropped? For what it's worth, my lipids all greatly improved after adding more fats (including all the so called bad saturated fats in cheese, butter, bacon, eggs) and reducing carbs.
So look into your ratios perhaps or ask questions about what particle size that ldl is? Or if it’s calculated (based on assumptions that are not valid on low carb) or measured?your ldl dropped?
my triglycerides drooped , hdl increased but ldl went up...
I was diagnosed with diabetes at the end of 2016 and changed my diet to less carbs and more fats (lots of cheese, I love cheese!), and started insulin.your ldl dropped?

Okay. Will go for detailed cardiac profile with apo a, b etc.So look into your ratios perhaps or ask questions about what particle size that ldl is? Or if it’s calculated (based on assumptions that are not valid on low carb) or measured?
Theres a huge amount to the cholesterol discussion that goes way way beyond “reduce the total/ldl as low as possible”. I’m convinced most drs just follow the (medically debated) guidelines and couldn’t explain it if you asked. Look up the massive thread by bulkbiker in here on the subject if you want to dig deeper.
Yes! Most ldl is made by the liver!I don't really bother about cholesterol but for what it's worth - after three years of keto and lots of cheese and eggs and dairy and red meat - my total cholesterol figure is now lower than it's ever been. I forget the exact figure but I think the body makes about 75-80% of its own cholesterol.
